Event descriptionFriday night race is a one-day night competition, national ranking event. Saturday-Sunday is a two-days normal distance national ranking event. Based on previous years experience several foreign clubs will also participate.
Terrain descriptionTypical mid-mountain range terrain with good runability, mostly oak-wood with some old pine-forest. Steep slopes and deep canyons are typical, some parts exhibit significant elevation difference. No orienteering competition took place in this terrain before.
Training possibilitiesRecent maps of similar terrains in the Mátra-mountain are available. Contact organizers for details.
Holiday activities,nature,hiking etc.Mátra-mountains, the highest (1015 m) mountain range of Hungary is a beautiful hiking destination in early May. Fresh spring forest, good weather and relaxed atmosphere! City of Gyöngyös at the south foothills and particularly the small settlements inside the Mátra-mountain are popular holiday destinations.
