Event description1'th of July 2015: Greenlandic Championship in Orienteering. 2'th of July 2015: Sprint Orienteering in the town of Ilulissat. The night 3/4'th of July 2015: AMO Race with courses at 5, 10, 15 and 20 km. The 4'th at the evening: Dinner and party for the participants.
Terrain descriptionThe terrain is situated at the city of Ilulissat with a view of the Kangia (Ilulissat Ice Fiord) and the Disko Bay. It is an open, hilly area with bare rock, stones or topsoil covered with moss, lichen, crowberry, heather and grass. At this time of the year there is daylight 24 hours per day. The temperature will normally be between +5 and +15°C.
Training possibilitiesTraining courses are arranged each Monday night during the summer season. Venue and start time cane be disclosed at the art museum or by phone: 94 47 77. The terrain outside the town are free to use.
Holiday activities,nature,hiking etc.Mountain walk with or without guide. Yachting at Diskobay and Ilulissat Icebay through enormous icebergs. With ship or helicopter to active iceglaciers. Photosafari, ex. icebergs, seals and whales. Yachting to towns and villages in the surroundings. Angling for codfish, trout’s and Greenland halibut. Historic walking tours, city walks and visit to museums
