Event descriptionJust three weeks before JWOC 2012 in Slovakia, this might be the perfect opportunity to finetune your skills in some hardcore starting fields! Saturday's event is the Hungarian Middle Distance Championships, which features a qualification race in the morning + a final in the afternoon. Sunday's event is the Hungarian Relay Championships - 3 short legs (maximum winning time is 35 minutes / runner). High quality course-planners from WOC 2009 guarantee some tough and exciting courses!
Terrain descriptionSome legendary terrains are waiting for you! The Bükk-plato has seen many world-class events, World Cup races in the '80s and most recently the World Orienteering Championships in 2009. Saturday's qualification race will take place on Huta-bérc, where most of the WOC 2009 middle final was decided. The final area is quite similar, probably a bit more demanding with a lot of intricate details in some fine, karst terrain. The neighbouring woods of the relay event are more open, but the format itself ensures the excitement.
Training possibilitiesThe JWOC 2012 long distance is just an hour's drive away, and there are certain similarities between the terrains, so this event might be the perfect opportunity to finetune your skills for JWOC!
