Event descriptionTwo days of high quality orienteering in Scotland, offering a great chance to begin the season with technical races against strong competition. Saturday 27th March is Middle Distance races on the Touch Estate, previously used for a Scottish Championships and Scottish 6-Day event. Sunday 28th March is a World Ranking Event and Scottish Orienteering League race on The Trossachs, previously used for a World Cup race in 1988 and possibly the finest orienteering area in Scotland.
Terrain descriptionThe World Ranking Event on the Trossachs will offer physically tough technical orienteering, with lots of rock and much intricate contour detail, often with open marshes offering the best running as an alternative to the heather and steep slopes. The middle distance races on Touch Estate will offer interesting technical races but this time with fast running speeds over a semi-open and wooded slope with much rock and contour detail, cut with many marshes and streams.
Training possibilitiesCompetitors interested in possibilities for training should contact the organiser please.
