| Event description | WHAT: MoboGoGlobo! It's a mobile-orienteering event, for teams of two, where a runner is guided through an orienteering course without a map, only aided by the instructions of his/her teammate over the phone. There will be one MoboGoGlobo course, approximately 3.5km in distance. WHO: Anyone in the world can participate! If you're local to Seattle you can be a runner. If you live anywhere else in the world, you can be a remote navigator over the phone. We'll electronically provide the maps! WHEN: The event starts at 10:00am local time in Seattle on March 22th, 2009. However, pre-registration is required for all participants. Local runners must sign up by March 8th. Global navigators by March 15th. Teams and exact start times will be announced on March 17th. WHERE: Volunteer Park, Seattle, USA... and anywhere else you happen to be calling from! WHY: Proceeds from this event will benefit WIOL, the Washington Interscholastic Orienteering League. It's for a good cause! More information available on the website. |
