Event descriptionPostas Cup is traditionaly one of Hungary's biggest and most well organised events. It is organised every year in various locations, usually around Budapest, but in 2009 - having the World Championships in Hungary - Postás Cup will move to the the Bükk mountains too. The competition terrains are neighbouring some of the WOC embargoed areas, and our main mapmaker is János Sötér, one of Hungary's best mapmakers, and also a key member of WOC2009's mapping team. The event program will consist of two induvidual races and a 3-man relay on Easter day, but that's by far not everything we offer as there will be even a sprint prologue the friday before the weekend together with training possibilities organized both before and after the races. So everything is set up for a great oreinteering weekend (or week) at Easter in Hungary!
Terrain descriptionHilly karst terrain with large depressions in the height of 4-600 meters above see level, mostly covered with beech forest but also with coniferous vegetation in places. The forest surface is slightly rocky but runability is still very good in average. The terrain is rich in details like lime and charcoal burning places, pits and depressions, and stones. The competition terrains are very relevant to WOC 2009 terrains!
Training possibilitiesTraining possibilities and a sprint prologue will be organised both before and after the competition.
