Event descriptionThis is the biggest and more important orienteering competition in Spain, with more than 1000 orienteers, 4 races (Long, Relays, Sprint and Middle), parallel activities...etc.
Terrain descriptionThe terrain is an area of hillside erosion typical Mediterranean, with great profusion of erosion gullies parallel from north to south, with abundant large size limestone. As a consequence of the falling rocks of the upper parts, caused by the harsh climate and capricious manner, there are many big stones among the white forest. The routes pass by Mediterranean forest areas with easy race in 80%, just in some areas the race could be slowed by the number of branches accumulated in from the cleaning of the forest. The floor is about 80% of sand and pleasant to the tread, there are some holes that sometimes are difficult to see due to the vegetation.
Training possibilitiesThe week before to the championship there are three oficial trainings and a model event in terrains close to Villena. There is also two regional orienteering events (April 4th and 5th) as a warm up for the championship.
