Event descriptionLong distance "national semifinal" on a new area near to the renowned Le Caylar Also warm-up middle distance event (saturday 5th) on the red sandy ravines at the Lac de Salagou (Clermont l'Hérault)
Terrain descriptiongorgeous new area for orienteering, the best of the Larzac plateau terrain, all those big rock pillars but with lots of intricate contour detail too, mostly very runnable

Short race reportAbout 600 people turned up to experience this new area for orienteering, another map to add to the list of classy Larzac areas. Tough, very technical courses, few runners could claim a mistake-free performance. Anyone planning to come to this summer's "French 6 days" in the Aveyron should spend some time studying this map on route gadget: the "6 day" areas are just a few miles down the road ...
