Event description | The Madeira Orienteering Meeting is a local event that takes place on the Madeira Island, Portugal. The event consists of three stages, a Sprint in an urban environment and two Middle Distance courses in the forest. |
Terrain description | Stage 1 - Urban terrain of Funchal City Stage 2 - Terrain: mostly of pine and hardwoods forest, more or less clean, alternating with some open areas, dense vegetation details, reasonable network paths, medium to high relief. Satge 3 - Terrain: More or less dense forest, abundant relief details, some paths, medium to high relief. |
Training possibilities | Funchal is the largest urban center on the Madeira island, but a few kilometers away there are several urban and forest areas for orienteering training and discovery of new territories, from sea to mountain. During your stay in Madeira, challenge yourself to discover new territories and the adventure of orienteering. |
