Event descriptionCANCELLED due to Corona restrictions. Will be staged 25.-27 June 2021 instead. ----------------------------------------Welcome to the Main o-event of Norwegian Orienteering Federation, organised by Kongsberg O-lag. This is an event over 3 days starting with Sprint distance in centre of Kongsberg city on Friday evening, and continuing with middle and long distance in forest Saturday and Sunday (11 km away). We always offer well organised events with nice and challenging terrain (o-skills).
Terrain descriptionSprint will be organised on brand new map (ISSprOM2019) over Kongsberg centre. Structure is medium complex, with little elevation differences. Forest events will see event centre at Heistadmoen ski arena outside Kongsberg. Here we offer mixed forest with mostly not too open pine forest, giving nice orienteering challenge in forest with good runnability. Military WOC 2010 in the same forest was won by Thierry Gueorgiou at 5.5 min/km.
Training possibilitiesMaps available at request, no courses are planned yet.
Holiday activities, nature, hiking etc.Kongsberg is situated 80 km west of capital Oslo. Kongsberg is an old silver mining town with a lot of nature around, and river Lågen crossing straight through city centre. Visit the old mines or take a hike to Knutetoppen for a magnificent view over Norway (sea far in south, mountains to the west). Presentation by technology companies located in Kongsberg will be held on Saturday for anyone interested.
