Event descriptionThe Oceania Orienteering Championships are conducted every two years to determine the International Orienteering Federation’s regional age group champions. The Championships will consist of Sprint, Middle and Long Distance events and a Relay event in foot orienteering.
Terrain descriptionIt is with great delight that we present this new area for the Oceania Middle Distance Championships. The terrain is heavily sluiced gold mining with a network of minor tracks. The mildly undulating area is generally slow run but is very variable across the map. The unrelenting nature of the terrain is such that competitors will be greatly challenged to manage their speed and navigation to ensure clean passage through their course.
