Event descriptionI have the pleasure of welcoming all orienteers, competitors, team leaders, officials and guests of the 2011 WOC and WTOC. We provide you with dream sites and a magnificent landscape on the Plateau du Grand Revard. They are exceptional as they meet the most exacting World Championship standards, open the joys of orienteering to all in the all-comer races – the O' Festival ERDF Savoie Grand Revard, and provide a grand spectacle and atmosphere at the arrival arenas. The sprint races, ceremonies, event centers, the IOF meetings etc will all be in the towns of Chambéry and Aix-les-Bains. Jean-Paul Ters, president of the French Orienteering Federation.

Holiday activities, nature, hiking etc.Right in the heart of the Regional Nature park of the Massif des Bauges, the Savoie Grand Revard is an exceptional area overhanging two urban centers with numerous services and facilities: Chambéry and Aix-les Bains. The Savoie Grand Revard plateau, which has been classified as of « ecological, touristic and floral interest » by the French Ministry of the Environment, is home to mountain sports and activities including a permanent orienteering circuit. The fauna and flora reign over the 5000 hectares of forest and pastures. The Pines, grassy plants and bushes, which are so many and varied in the Massif des Bauges, give place to prairies and clearings. Savoie Grand Revard, which enjoys the natural riches of this protected area, affords many recreational and sporting activities.
