Event description | The Shamrock O-Ringen is a 3-day orienteering event, organised every 2 years by Cork Orienteering Club in Ireland. The competition attracts orienteers from all over the world to compete on our unique terrain on the Western shores of Europe. In 2011, the Shamrock will take place on the beautiful and challenging terrain of the Sheep's Head peninsula in West Cork, Ireland. The format will be as follows: Saturday 4th June: Middle Distance Sunday 5th June: Classic Distance Monday 6th June: Chasing Start |
Training possibilities | The Sheep's Head peninsula is in West Cork, in southwest Ireland. The terrain is mostly open mountain, with many contour and rock features which have been typical of previous Shamrock competitions. The slopes boast stunning views of Dunmanus Bay to the south, and Bantry Bay to the north. |
