Event description | 2nd Asian Orienteering Championships. IOF regional championships. open to all age classes and all nationalities. Sprint, Middle, Long and Relay. Sprint and Middle are in the Nakatsugawa area in Gifu Prefecture about 60km north east of Nagoya. LOng and Relay in Tsukude district of Shinshiro City - same venue as WOC 2005 event centre |
Terrain description | Continental style terrain with very detailed contours and lots of route choice. Typical Japanese cedar forest - mostly very runnable. Long and Relay maps are updates of WOC 2005 maps. Sprint terrain is aorund a mountain hot spring resort. |
Holiday activities,nature,hiking etc. | On the rest day (May 3) the organisers are offering a sightseeing trip to Shirakawago - a World Heritage listed historical of traditional thatched houses and other historical sites nearby. Also you will be just a short trip on the famous bullet train to Kyoto - Japan's former captial and one the great tourist venues of the world. |
